General Questions
What makes Naturopathic medicine different from conventional medicine?
Visits are typically longer (30-90 minutes) and treatment involves non-pharmaceutical approaches such as botanical medicine, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, lifestyle counseling, and acupuncture.
Do you treat children and adolescents?
Yes!
Are visits, assessments, and treatments covered by OHIP?
No. However, they are covered by most extended health benefits plans. Check yours to see if Naturopathic Medicine is covered.

What sort of treatments do you offer?
Treatments may involve making a diet changes, adding more movement to your day, tea recommendations, herbal supplements or tinctures, acupuncture or cupping sessions, homeopathy recommendations, or hydrotherapy recommendations. Treatments are collaborative, we work together to figure out what might work best for you!
Who should see a Naturopathic Doctor?
Anyone who has health goals and is looking for help and guidance to achieve them. Whether it is a chronic health concern or condition that is preventing you from achieving your goals, or simply a desire to learn more about how to achieve optimal health, Felicia would love to work with you!
How do you become a Naturopathic Doctor? What sort of training or education is involved?
To become a Naturopathic Doctor, 7-8 years of post-secondary education is required. Naturopathic doctors in Ontario must have completed a 3-4 year undergraduate university degree followed by a 4-year postgraduate Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree. Following graduation, licensing exams are required as well as registration with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. Once licensed, Naturopathic Doctors are required to complete 70 hours of continuing education courses every 3 years.
Do you offer direct billing?
Yes, direct billing is available for most extended health benefits plans. If we are not able to direct bill, you will receive an official invoice and receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement after payment.
Is Naturopathic Medicine safe?
Naturopathic doctors use gentle, non-invasive or minimally invasive treatments to promote long-lasting health changes. Treatment plans are evidence-informed and combine time-tested traditional knowledge and experience with the latest research for safe and effective treatment strategies and recommendations. Felicia will talk about the risks and benefits of any treatment she recommends and you are always free to decline a treatment you may not be comfortable with.
